Introduction:

Amateur and proffesional artists are constantly looking for ways of promoting their work on the internet in new galleries, portfolios and other sites. Behance might give them a chance to gather together, regardless of the artform, advertise, find inspiration and get feedback.

There are lots of portals, where you can look for a job, advertise yourself, or create a photo gallery, but Behance is a very original place. It is a haven for artists - but not just anyone, who considers himself a talented individual, but for creative professionals, that's why an invitation is required to enter the site, unless someone decides to sign up as a watcher, without the possibility to post his work. This may be disappointing for some people, but on the other hand, it allows the site to keep a high standard of featured work, and become a trustworthy place to find good quality projects.

Then the user can upload his or her photos, pictures or projects to the portfolio, receive comments, and "appreciation" stamps. The profiles have a very clear layout, with the information in the left column and the gallery miniatures on the right, the profile statistics (the number of views, appreciations, comments and feedback) are also clearly visible.

Each user can create a circle, based around a topic, field of art, or location and exchange posts and ideas with other members of the circle. A separate section is devoted to Behance tip exchange, where each of the users can add useful information related to the site, and other users can appreciate, flag or share it.

The site is designed in a very professional, but not boring way, with eye-pleasing graphics, that do not take the viewers attention off the featured artists' work. The menu is very clear, the site works fast, even with galleries that contain many high-quality pictures.

Summary:

Rating 9.7

Behance is one of the most interesting, well-designed and thriving communities which have appeared recently. Even though it is still in beta, there are thousands of users already, who share ideas, promote their work, and organize collaboration, and the situation can only improve in the future. Thanks to the clear and user-friendly design, and the high quality of works, this site has an enormous potential of becoming a very important place for artists themselves, companies who want to hire them and for wievers who wand to feast their eyes on inspiring pieces of art.
